The Plantation Course at Edisto

The Plantation Course at Edisto

The sole golf course on the island enjoys an interesting history dating back to its origin in 1973. Originally known as Oristo and later as The Edisto Beach Golf Club, the course takes pride in its new name…. ‘The Plantation Course at Edisto’. After completing a total renovation of the course in 2006 and planned improvements involving a new Pro Shop in 2007, we can insure that your golfing experience will be enjoyable and memorable. We hope the following preview will be helpful to you in making your plans for a visit to Edisto and The Plantation Course at Edisto in the near future.

The Plantation Course at Edisto was renovated by Tom Jackson and (R)Favsam Associatesenjoys in 2006. Over the years, the course has been a favorite with residents and guests alike. In 2006 the course enjoyed a major renovation when new ownership improved all aspects of the layout, including the addition of Sea Isle Supreme Paspalum Grass from tee to green.

Nestled in giant live oaks, magnolias and towering palms, any golf enthusiasts will find a very challenging, but player friendly layout. Measuring 6200 yards, distance is not as important as accuracy and one must not disregard the many water hazards. Regardless of your skill level, you are certain to enjoy the beauty of the course and surrounding areas. You will almost always see pelicans, ospreys, herons, and egrets along the course. And keep your eyes open for alligators basking in the sun along the edges of the lagoons.

The course is open to the public with daily greens fees as well as offering several membership options and a weekly play card for our vacation guests.

The Plantation Course At Edisto is an 18-hole regulation length golf course in Edisto Island, South Carolina. This short layout has 3 sets of teeboxes for a fun, but challenging golfing experience. Online tee times may be available at The Plantation Course At Edisto or at nearby golf courses, usually offered at a discount from the normal rate.

The Links at Stono Ferry
The Plantation Course at Edisto

The Links at Stono Ferry combines the historic traditions of Charleston with exciting golf along the Intracoastal waters of South Carolina. The Battle at Stono Ferry was fought on these grounds in 1779. As you play your way around our beautiful links you'll discover many relics from this amazing piece of history. The battle is still being fought today, only this time it is over 18 of Charleston's best golf holes.

The front nine winds its way through majestic pines and waste area-lined fairways while the back nine plays along the banks of the Intracoastal Waterway. Known for its back nine heroics, scenic views and the island green 18th hole, Stono Ferry offers golfers of all abilities one of the most unique tests in all of Charleston.

Also dotting the club's landscape is an expansive practice facility complete with target greens, as well as practice chipping and putting greens to help you hone those all important stroke-saving shots.
